Chocolate Bacon Cheeseburger

Chocolate, bacon and cheeseburger.  Those three words are probably the unhealthiest sounding words that you could say at the same time, but also the most amazing combination that you could ever taste.

Have you ever imagined a burger so remarkable that will leave you drooling just by one look? Well the genius at Epic Nomz has taken that imaginary burger and turned it into a reality.

The ingredient that makes this burger what is has to be the chocolate covered bacon.

So just imagine, the chocolate covered bacon being placed on top of the sizzling beef patty, causing the chocolate to melt so that you can taste it in every bite.

Oh and did I mention that the cheese is inside of the burger? Well it is.

Every bite of this burger will satisfy, and when you’re done you’ll be begging for more.

Chocolate Pasta?

Pasta is something that I can eat any day.  Spicy pasta, creamy pasta, or any type of pasta is a meal that I can have on a daily basis.  So you could only imagine how happy I was when I went to Italy, the birthplace of pasta.

One thing I did expect while I was there was to be in pasta heaven.  But what caught me off guard was the discovery of a whole new type of pasta, chocolate pasta.

While I was there I had the chocolate pasta in a sweet dish, with berries and cream, but the noodles themselves tasted like unsweetened cocoa powder. So I began to wonder, can chocolate pasta be used to make an entrée?

When I got back to the states, my mind was still on the idea of chocolate pasta, so did some research and found a dinner recipe that used chocolate pasta.

I convinced my dad to make it for me one night and I was not disappointed.  The recipe was really simple, jus a light cream sauce with chicken and peppers, but the flavors complimented each other very well.

This pasta is now one of my favorites and it is a regular dinner dish at my household.  It is definitely a recipe that I would recommend if you like alfredo pasta.

Cuban Oxtail Stew

If you haven’t noticed from the rest of my blog posts, I am pretty adventurous when it comes to food.  I will try any type of food what so ever.  I might be scared at times but usually at the end of the experience I have another favorite food.

One thing that I have tried that scared me was oxtail.  I didn’t like the idea of eating the tail of any animal.  It also didn’t help that it didn’t look very appetizing uncooked.

Image

The first time I had oxtail; my dad tried this amazing stew recipe that I just had to share.

Even though the recipe is a Cuban recipe, the unsweetened cocoa powder that the recipe calls for gives the stew a mole taste, which is more of a Mexican flavor.  Regardless, the ingredients blend well together and make the perfect meal.

The second my dad put the stew on the table, all of my doubts about oxtail faded away.  The un-appetizing oxtails magically became the most appetizing thing I had seen in a while.

This stew is perfect for these cold months, it will warm you from the inside out while satisfied your taste buds.

My favorite way to eat it is over rice.  The rice soaks up all of the juices by making it even tastier.

Oreo Milk Shake

In the summer all I search for is a way to cool down.  My eating habits become lighter and I don’t want to go anywhere near a stove let alone eat anything that comes off of one.  Same thing goes for my drinks.

In the summer hot chocolate and hot tea basically go out the window and are replaced with milk shakes.

Image

Yes I know that contradicts my “lighter” statement, but I can’t help but fold every once and a while.

My favorite milkshake would have to be an Oreo milkshake.  Mostly because some plain chocolate shakes can be overbearing, but with the Oreo shake I can have my favorite ingredient and not have it take over the whole drink.

Image

Making the shake is pretty simple, chopped Oreos, chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream blended together.  But I found a recipe that makes your shake actually look like an Oreo.

Visual effects are always fun and it also helps if the drink tastes good as well.

Vegetarian Chocolate Chili

So now we’re going to take a trip back to my vegetarian days, back when I would scour the campus for the best vegetarian meals.

Unfortunately, like most college students would tell you, all food on campus gets old in about two weeks.

So like every student, I would venture off campus for a little bit of a change up and it wasn’t until I went to my friend’s house for dinner that I found one of my favorite vegetarian dishes.

The vegetarian chocolate chili that my friend’s mom made for me will be one that I will remember forever.

The besides the chocolate, my favorite ingredient in this chili would have to be the orange zest.

Image

The zest adds a sweet acidic flavor that hits you at the end.  It is just the refreshing kick that this dish needed.

The chocolate itself only makes the flavor of the chili richer as a whole.

Chocolate Pizza

Lately I’ve had a bit of a sweet tooth, as if you haven’t noticed from my last few blog posts, but there is one sweeter dish that I had to feature before I switch back to some more savory dishes.

So lets take a minute to talk about pizza.

Image

Being in New York, where pizza is one of the most popular foods around here my appreciation of it has definitely gotten more.

After moving here I have tried so many different types of pizza that I have lost track but my favorite types of pizza that I have had are definitely the dessert pizzas. I have never had a dessert pizza before coming to New York and now I don’t think that I can live with out them.

Image

My favorite dessert pizza that I have found is one that uses all different chocolate including bittersweet chocolate, white chocolate, and nutella.

This pizza has a very rich flavor and is almost impossible to eat on its own and will go great with a cup of milk.

Chocolate-Strawberry Panini

As weird as this may sound, one of my favorite ways to eat a meal is in a sandwich form.  When you think about it sandwiches are very convenient.  It is very easy to eat them on the go, you can combine some of your favorite foods and ingredients into one bite and if you have weird tastes, you can hide your selection beneath the bread.

With that said, I had to find a chocolate sandwich to put on this blog. After searching for a little I found a sandwich that I personally could eat on a daily basis.

In case you haven’t guessed by reading some of my post, I’m all about putting all of my favorite foods together and finding the perfect combination.

With this sandwich I did just that by combining strawberries, nutella and pound cake in the form of a panini!

Image

Making this heavenly sandwich is very simple.

First, cut the pound cake into slices.

Next, spread the nutella on both slices of the pound cake.

Then, place sliced strawberries in-between the two pieces of cake.

Lastly, put the sandwiches on the panini grill for about two minutes, or until the sandwich turns golden brown.

Hot n Spicy Chocolate Tea

With the cold weather creeping up on us, I thought it’d be nice to do a post on one of my favorite ways to warm up.

Hot chocolate is something that I have never grown out of.  Ever since I was a kid I have loved to wake up to a cup of hot coco and now even more so now that I have to experience REAL winters her in New York.

Image

And as I have gotten older I have fallen in love with tea.  Both hot chocolate and hot tea do the trick every time.

Image

But of course I cant feature any plain cup of hot chocolate or tea, no, I had to do some digging but I found a recipe that combines hot chocolate and hot tea and adds a little kick.

This “kick” comes from the cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.  I personally don’t like ginger, so I did with out it and the taste still came out phenomenal.

Image

You can also experiment with the type of tea you want to use, but the recipe calls for lipton (caffeinated or decaffeinated).

Strawberry Salad With Chocolate

Bouncing off of my last entry, I decided to do another healthy post.  As the carnivore that I am, it’s hard to think that I love salads as much as I do.  But in the summer days when it’s scorching hot out or after a tiring work out after the gym, I like to keep my meals light and salads are perfect for that.

Image

But once again my abnormal love for chocolate stepped in and forced me to search for some type of salad that included chocolate, and of course I found one.

This salad has some of my favorite ingredients in it; strawberries, cucumbers and like I said before, chocolate.

Image

This mixture is perfect for an appetizer to tease the taste buds or a light dinner.  It can even be perfect for a snack. The balsamic vinegar dressing keeps the salad light, unlike ranch or Caesar dressing.

Another perk to this salad is that it is very pretty salad because of the bright red of the strawberries making this salad perfect for dinner party to add some color to the dinner table.

Tofu Mole Enchiladas

Last semester I decided to try something new and become a vegetarian.  I didn’t really have a specific reason, maybe I was bored and wanted to make a drastic change, but I think I mostly just wanted to try it out.

It didn’t last for very long, it lasted around 4 months, because I couldn’t stay away from meat for long. But it was a lot easier than I thought it would be because I discovered some new foods that made the journey enjoyable.

Surprisingly, tofu was one of those foods.  By itself tofu is tasteless, but I soon learned that tofu takes the taste of whatever it is cooked with.

Image

After learning that fun fact I began mixing the tofu into foods that I used to eat.  I discovered that my favorite taste to mix the tofu with is something spicy.

Then found this recipe for tofu mole enchiladas and fell in love.

Of course I had to make sure that there was some sort of chocolate in it to make the recipe even more perfect.

Image

The flavors of this dish mostly consist of spice but it is also a bit sour and sweet.

If you’re a vegetarian and love tofu and spicy foods then this is the dish for you.  It makes being a vegetarian fun.
